Animal Welfare Officer Courses

What is the content?

  • Explanations of current systems and processes – transport to humane stunning and slaughter. Be part of your company’s approach to better welfare practice and improved product quality.
  • Welfare assessment and methodology – are you confi dent in your ability to assess eff ective stunning, slaughter and killing? How do you interact with management, the OVS and custsomers to ensure good welfare?
  • New and updated legislation – keep updated with amendments to legislation and understand the research that initiates such changes. The supplied course manual covers:

Who should attend?
This two-day programme is designed for employees responsible for the welfare of animals within the lairage and processing plant.

How will it be organised?
Two-day residential programmes at centres in the UK. 21 participants per course. Expert industry tutors from Animal Welfare Training, part of Bristol University, Division of Farm Animal Science. Discussion and special video material. Computer controlled visuals and demonstrations.

Is there a certificate?
A certificate is presented in recognition of attendance.

 

 

 


Cost & Venues : 2008
The cost of the course is £500 for tuition, the course manual and refreshments. Overnight accommodation is not included and the respective costs are detailed below:
